How to Expand Vision, Inspire Creativity and Spark Innovation?

According to Northern Beaches School Principal Stephen Harris, consider taking a Vision Tour:

These journeys have morphed into the most powerful type of professional development I could be involved in or could conceive. It has the potential to enable any school to create world class examples of transformation and it will also help shape the path of what schools could look like in 2015 or 2030.

We shape the future with vision, rather than letting context and circumstance shape us or our thinking. It’s not necessarily the places, spaces or people that have the most impact– it’s the constant conversation, creating and collaboration that shapes fresh vision. And vision does have the power to transform communities and nations.

The Vision Tours are sponsored by the Sydney Center of Innovation and Learning (SCIL), the innovation and research hub of Northern Beaches Christian School, an Australian K to 12 school serving about 1,300 students and another 300 online.  The insights gleaned from SCIL Vision Tours have been pivotal in transforming Harris’ school into an agile, adaptable organization with international recognition for its powerful learning model supported by a powerful vision (Exceed all Expectations).  The school is the envy of even the most skeptical visitors who witness the school’s community of learners in action. The SCIL mission is to:

Expand Vision. Inspire Creativity. Spark Innovation.

Principal Stephen Harris is known internationally for his work rethinking learning and transforming schools.  He believes in the strong relationship between learning and leanring spaces (previously called classrooms).  Northern Beaches has been recognized by the OECD as a school of innovation, design and powerful learning practices and also has been highlighted in several case study reports as an exemplar.

What is a Vision Tour?  Taking a core team of school change leaders on an international journey to look at exemplar schools, programs, museums, libraries or spaces, as well as meeting outstanding individuals who will immediately inspire or promote fresh vision.

The next tour is scheduled for May 2104 in the US.
